Sonovation Creates New Fingerprint Technology For Smartphones
A company called Sonovation has developed new fingerprint technology for smartphones and tablets that may put an end to home buttons on devices. At the moment the majority of smartphones that have a fingerprint sensor have them built into the home button. This new technology from Sonovation puts ultrasonic biometric sensors under Gorilla Glass, this can then be used to read your fingerprint on the display of your devices. This would mean that company like Apple who have their fingerprint sensor built into the home button on the iPhone would be able to have the fingerprint sensor in the display. Sonovation says its sensors are “capable of capturing fingerprint data into the ridges and valleys.” It also says 3D scanning can take place if a finger is wet, dirty or oily — all without compromising accuracy. As yet there are no details on when we will see this new fingerprint technology in future devices, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.Source: Geeky Gadgets
